Date/Time:  October 16, 2013, 2pm - 3:15pm

This webinar will be captioned.

Overview: Finding an employer known for being disability friendly is an obvious company with which to build your relationships and placements. But unfortunately, the majority of employers have yet to make the leap into disability inclusion. This session will help you understand how to help companies who have a diversity commitment connect to a disability commitment. You can be the key to their success- and yours- if you listen, speak the business language and provide expertise!

Employment Renewed Investments

Presenters:  David Mank, Director of the Indiana Institute on Disability and Community at Indiana University, Indiana’s University Center for Excellence on Developmental Disabilities and Teresa Grossi,  Director for the Center on Community Living and Careers at the Indiana Institute on Disability and Community, the Indiana’s University Center for Excellence (UCE) at Indiana University

Date/Time:  November 7, 2013, 2pm - 3:30pm EST

Overview:   Supported employment for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities emerged in the 1980s, clearly showing the untapped potential of people to work productively in integrated jobs. While supported employment has expanded little in the last decade, there is a renewed investment nationwide and in some other countries. This webinar will share the renewed developments in supported employment and the threats that remain to further improvement and expansion that must also be addressed.
