The Copeland Center for Wellness and Recovery and the Temple University Collaborative on Community Inclusion invite you to participate in a 90 minute webinar, Supporting Increased Community Participation: An Introduction to Community Inclusion for Peer Providers. Exciting new research suggests that increased community participation is related to greater feelings of well being and recovery. This introductory, yet highly informational webinar will provide peer providers and their allies a foundational understanding of the relationship between community participation and recovery and well being. It will also explore the key role that peers can play in supporting increased community participation. Additionally, the webinar will introduce attendees to the opportunity to participate in an intensive two day in-person training and a unique opportunity to pursue a new certification as a Community Inclusion Peer Facilitator.
Learning Objectives: By the end of this webinar participants will be able to:
1) define the concepts of community integration, inclusion, and participation and their relationship to mental health and wellness;
2) describe the ways which community exclusion occurs and impacts health and wellness;
3) discuss the evidence base that supports an increased focus on community inclusion;
4) identify the role and value of peer support in promoting community wellness through increased inclusion.
