DSRIP Review Panel Underscores Need for CBO Investments

New York's DSRIP Project Approval and Oversight Panel met yesterday to hear progress reports from downstate Performing Provider System (PPS) leads. You can see who presented and some handouts at http://www.health.ny.gov/health_care/medicaid/redesign/dsrip/paop/2016-01-21-22_paop_meetings.htm and review the attached opening presentation as well. Presentations continue today; you can look in NOW at http://www.totalwebcasting.com/view/?id=nysdoh Today's Crain's Health Pulse indicates panelists and audience members emphasized the need for greater investment in community non-profits, adding that "while the panel praised such examples of CBO participation, questions remained about how much DSRIP money will funnel down to these organizations. Lara Kassel, coalition coordinator for Medicaid Matters NY, asked whether the CBOs themselves would vouch that they've been included. "When you say 'involvement,' I do hope that the CBOs themselves have the same sense of involvement," she said." http://www.crainsnewyork.com/article/20160122/PULSE/160129964/medicaid-panel-gets-a-progress-report-on-dsrip#utm_medium=email&utm_source=cnyb-pulse&utm_campaign=cnyb-pulse-20160122
