"Ask Me Anything" Employment Series

National Resource Center on Employment

You’re invited to ask an expert about coping with mental health conditions that interfere with work.

On Wednesday, December 5, 2018, from 2:00-3:00 PM EST, Len Statham, via webinar, will answer any questions you have related to Employment Activation: Let’s get started! The unemployment rate is not our biggest problem... the lack of participation in the workforce is! Join us for an honest conversation about what we need to do as a community to change this unsettling dynamic. This “Ask Me Anything” topic will be a call to arms to empower both providers and individuals with lived experience to begin the conversation we need to have: Why are we settling only for public benefits and how can we activate individuals toward employment?

This free, online event is not a presentation but an interactive question & answer webinar.

Regardless of whether you are a person living with a mental health condition, a family member, an administrator of a service, a provider, a researcher — you can use the time to ask anything related to Employment Activation to our guest expert.

For example, you could ask about:

  • What are some strategies we can use to help people move past the fear of losing their benefits when returning to work?

  • How can we empower families to take a greater role in helping their loved ones move toward employment?

  • How do we get others on the treatment team to support employment as a therapeutic intervention?

  • How can we use peers to effectively support individuals “on the fence” about employment?
